Councilman Howard R. Young, Jr., was elected to the Middletown Town Council on March 2, 2015. A resident of Middletown for 36 years, Young is a retired City of Wilmington firefighter.
Young attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. He served several years on the Middletown Planning and Zoning Commission.
Young is very involved in his church, the Union Baptist Temple, in Bridgeton, N.J. Through his church volunteerism, he is a Career Day speaker for Delaware and New Jersey public schools.
He is a member of the Volunteer Hose Co. of Middletown, past master of the Stone Square Lodge #22 in Middletown, and is a member of the International Association of Firefighters IAFF Local #1590.
